NOVI, Mich., Dec. 17, 2012 - Cooper Standard, a leading global supplier of automotive sealing, fluid and anti-vibration systems, today announced that its: Georgetown, Ontario; Mitchell, Ontario; and Gaylord, Mich. facilities received General Motors Co.'s Supplier Quality Excellence Award for 2012. The honor recognizes approximately 7 percent of the automaker's product suppliers who demonstrate the highest levels of quality performance over the previous 12 months.
"This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Georgetown, Mitchell and Gaylord employees who work each day to maintain the quality and performance standards that help our customers to build high-quality vehicles," said Bill Pumphrey, president North America, Cooper Standard. "We're honored to be recognized with GM's Supplier Quality Excellence Award in its inaugural year and will work tirelessly to maintain our award-winning standards."
The Supplier Quality Excellence Award is a new recognition that GM is implementing for 2012 and focuses on improving collaborations and cooperation with suppliers. The award is given to specific supplier locations that meet or exceed a stringent set of quality performance criteria along with cross-functional support of the entire GM organization. The 2012 award horizon covers July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012.
Cooper Standard's Gaylord and Georgetown facilities manufacture vehicle sealing systems, including bodyside moldings, glassruns, door seals and interior trim, while the company's Mitchell plant develops anti-vibration products, including engine mounts, bushings, differential mounts and cradle mounts.
