Cooper Standard Earns Ford Motor Co. Go Further Award for Business Excellence
06.07.2013

NOVI, Mich., June 7, 2013 - Ford Motor Co. hosted its 15th annual World Excellence Awards (WEA) ceremony Thursday, May 23 to celebrate 47 of its top-performing global suppliers. During the event, Cooper Standard was recognized with the Go Further award for its contributions to the Evonik fire recovery, emergency resourcing actions, and extraordinary plant and equipment launch support. According to Ford, the tireless work and assistance of the suppliers recognized with this award helped minimize production disruptions, and even more importantly, exhibited courage, strength and leadership during a time of hardship.

"Our global team showed tremendous dedication, customer focus and creativity during the crisis," said Jeffrey Edwards, chairman and CEO, Cooper Standard. "We are very proud to receive this award on behalf of the Cooper Standard employees who worked around the clock to minimize the impact of this challenging event."

Immediately following the incident that occurred in March 2012, Cooper Standard assembled a global team of sales, engineering, purchasing, quality, logistics and operations experts to work closely with customers, suppliers and industry peers to identify and implement solutions in an effort to avoid interruptions in vehicle production. The team was able to quickly track alternative materials, gain necessary approvals and bring these options to market. As a result of the global effort, Cooper Standard met all of its customers' needs following the event.

"We want to recognize those suppliers who have demonstrated excellence despite the unforeseen challenges that have happened over the past year," said Mark Fields, chief operating officer, Ford. "Thanks to your unwavering commitment, we are closer than ever to reaching our goal of delivering profitable growth for all."

The WEA honors production and nonproduction suppliers. The award-winning suppliers represent thousands of employees across the globe who bring diverse cultures, values and ideas to Ford.
