NOVI, Mich., Oct. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cooper-Standard Holdings Inc. (NYSE: CPS), a leading global supplier of automotive sealing, fuel and brake, and fluid transfer systems, today announced the appointment of Iwona Niec Villaire to deputy general counsel and director of global legal compliance effective September 30, 2013. She will report to Timothy W. Hefferon, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Cooper Standard and will be based at the company's headquarters in Novi, Mich.
In her new position, Villaire will maintain responsibility for a broad range of legal matters, including securities law compliance, financing, corporate governance matters, mergers/acquisitions, real estate transactions and oversight of the Company's legal affairs in Europe. In addition, she will join Cooper Standard's Corporate Responsibility Committee and coordinate the activities of the Company and committee in ensuring continued compliance with Cooper Standard's code of business conduct and ethics, related policies and applicable laws on a global basis.

Villaire joined Cooper Standard in September 2007 as associate general counsel. Previously, she served as senior counsel with Federal-Mogul Corp., where she was responsible for corporate governance, securities, international transactions, restructuring and bankruptcy, regulatory compliance and employment law. Prior to this, she was an associate attorney at Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss in Southfield, Mich.
Villaire earned a Juris Doctor, Master of Arts in education psychology and Bachelor of Science degrees from Wayne State University in Detroit. She is a member of Inforum and the Michigan Bar Association.
