Sonya F. Sepahban Joins Cooper Standard Board of Directors

NOVI, Mich.May 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Cooper-Standard Holdings Inc. (NYSE: CPS) announces that Sonya F. Sepahban was elected to the Company's Board of Directors at its annual Meeting of Stockholders earlier today.

Sepahban brings extensive experience in engineering, production, technology and innovation, profit and loss management, and global operations within the aerospace and defense industry to her new role at Cooper Standard. Her skills and background provide the Board with expertise based on her oversight responsibilities in engineering, development and production operations of high profile global organizations.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors at Genomenon, Inc., an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based provider of genomic analysis software for clinics and research, the Cranbrook Institute of Science and the Inforum Center for Leadership.

Sepahban most recently served as the senior vice president of engineering, development and technology at General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS), a business unit of General Dynamics Combat Systems Group, responsible for all GDLS products developed for governmental and commercial customers worldwide.

Prior, she held a number of leadership positions with Northrop Grumman Space Technology, including chief technology officer, and her most recent post as senior vice president and chief engineer responsible for program execution, product development and continuous improvement. Previous to her employment at Northrop, Sepahban held a number of technical and management positions at the NASA Johnson Space Center.

Sepahban has been recognized with many noteworthy awards, including: Technologist of the Year by Women of Color; Women to Watch by Crain's Detroit Business; the Robert Collier Trophy from NASA; and the Chairman's Award of Excellence from Northrop Grumman Corp.

Sepahban earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston, a master's degree in chemical engineering from Rice University in Houston, as well as a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and a political science degree from the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris, France.
