NORTHVILLE, Mich., Oct. 6, 2023 – Cooper Standard (NYSE: CPS) is again joining thousands of manufacturers across the United States as they showcase the possibilities of modern manufacturing and its many career opportunities. Throughout October, Cooper Standard is celebrating Manufacturing Day with more than 30 events across its global locations to celebrate and inspire the next generation of creators.
“As a leading automotive supplier, Cooper Standard is passionate about inspiring and cultivating the next generation of the manufacturing workforce, especially through science, technology, engineering and math-related careers,” said Patrick Clark, senior vice president and managing director - global automotive, Cooper Standard. “We’re excited to once again open our doors to help engage and excite this vital group of emerging talent at our October events.”
Celebrated throughout the month of October, Manufacturing Day, organized nationally by the Manufacturing Institute, is manufacturing’s biggest annual opportunity to inspire the next generation, positively shift perceptions about the manufacturing industry, and build the foundation for the manufacturing workforce of the future. It empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive. Amid record job openings in manufacturing, these collective efforts are as important now as ever.
In addition to Manufacturing Day, Cooper Standard participates in several initiatives that support and promote the future manufacturing workforce, including:
- Supporting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education through its employee resource groups that leverage employee-led volunteer programs to inspire student achievement and interest in manufacturing careers;
- Its participation as a founding member of the Michigan Mobility Talent Consortium that supports and sponsors initiatives to fill the talent pipeline in Michigan for high tech jobs and skillsets; and
- Offering several programs designed to appeal to students and talent that are in the early stages of their career.
