Cooper Standard is proud to announce that its Torreón, Mexico facility has earned the prestigious 2024 Global Kaizen Excellence Award.
The four Regional Finalist Teams recently presented to a panel of global leaders who selected the Torreón, Mexico facility as the global winner based on the project’s lean improvement, use of lean principles, ability to leverage potential at other plants, and alignment with the Company’s Purpose, Mission and Values.
According to Cooper Standard’s Chris Couch President, Fluid Handling Systems and chief technology officer the Torreón facility exemplifies the spirit of continuous improvement in every aspect of its work. One of the project’s differentiating factors was the significant savings from inventory and re-evaluation of equipment and capital expenditures using lean principles. This team’s Kaizen aligned to core business drivers and the Company’s value of Safety First, as well as sustainability and the community.
“The Torreón facility’s collaborative mentality improved efficiency, while also lowering operating costs, decreasing scrap, and optimizing floorspace,” said Couch. “Just as importantly, their efforts enhanced overall workplace culture and adaptability to change.”
Celebrating the Global Kaizen Excellence Award winner is not just about recognizing a team’s achievements but acknowledging the power of continuous improvement as a driving force for Cooper Standard’s success. Congratulations to the Torreón team, as well as the other three finalists: Aguascalientes, Mexico; Tarazona, Spain; and Kunshan, China.
